As recounted in Le Grand Creillois industriel - Architecture et Patrimoine published by Lieux Dits in 2011 :
"The factory was founded in 1876 by Joseph-Léon Floury, on the site of a mill that used water power.
It originally specialized in the manufacture of kerosene lamps, alcohol stoves and wet combustion devices, a production that continued until 1960.
At that time, Michel Votat, the son-in-law and successor to André Floury, himself grandson of the founder, reoriented the business in new premises towards sub-contracting in cutting, stamping and assembly of metal parts for the air filtration, construction, electronics and the automotive industries. Several lines of mechanical punching and stamping presses allowed the production of parts with progressive tools.
Currently managed by Philippe Votat, Michel Votat’s son, the company which employs 38 people has, in 2009, cut 2,500 tons of sheet metal, which represented 16 millions parts."
The significant milestones illustrating Votat´s timeline.
Foundation of Floury-Decroze Co. Manufacture of oil lamps, ship lanterns, alcohol stoves, wet combustion devices,...
André Floury sold his company to Michel Votat (shearing, cutting, stamping, in-house product, i.e. metal caps for winding rollers used in the paper-making industry).
Philippe Votat takes over the management of VOTAT S.A.
Votat took over CHAMPION in Blois, a company in the same field of activity. This takeover ensured VOTAT´s development.
Extension of the premises (1000 m²).
Reinforcement of the Engineering Department (3D-Design LOGOPRESS).
